Why is breastfeeding a good thing?

It is not always that everything is perfect or as you expected, when you are pregnant or during a birth. Many women have a great pregnancy and love to be pregnant, and many women have easy and unproblematic births. And then there are the rest where it did not go well, or the experience did not meet the expectations!

Then one of the things to look forward to, if neither pregnancy or birth was quite as expected, is to breastfeed your child! Most women are able to breastfeed, so if it is possible for you in any way to nurse your child, then it will compensate for all the things that did not go well during pregnancy and birth.

When breastfeeding your child, you get incredible cohesion that is unlike anything else. When you sit with your big stomach – perhaps with caesarean section – and have been sewn well through the bottom – then a simple look at your little baby wonder lying on your chest is the proof that it was worth it

When the child cries and nothing else is needed than YOU and your breasts, then you will feel that you right there are the most important thing for your child. Yes, of course – Dad is also important – but not for this. Breastfeeding is your thing – the thing only a mother can do, and I think it’s okay to say it out load.

When breastfeeding, it’s important to sit still and be quiet and let your child eat, and for some mothers it’s a good thing if they’re too busy. You cannot walk around and breastfeed and you cannot “breastfeed quickly” – it takes the time it takes and it also gives you as a mother a little peace and quiet with your child.

You get a cohesion with your child, which is unique
It is de-stressing to breastfeed as you have reduce your speed
You lose weight while breastfeeding
It is good for your child to be breastfeed
